I couldn’t resist making these once I came up with the idea. The benefit to using Lo-Dough instead of oats is if you are on Slimming World, you can save your Healthy Extra B for something later and these basic waffles are only 2 syns!

Lovely light Breakfast Waffles served with Sugar Free Caramel sauce. If you decide to make the sauce, make it in advance and keep in the fridge. It will keep a few days, long enough for you to enjoy these over and over again!

The recipe is simple for both the waffles and the Sugar Free Caramel Sauce

The Caramel Sauce recipe needs to be made in advance and chilled. It’s made from just two ingredients – coconut milk (full fat) and Sukrin Gold Sugar free Syrup

The recipe calls for Coconut milk – the nutritional values/syn values of this vary so please check the different brands. I used Blue Dragon

To make Breakfast Waffles you will need a Silicone waffle mould. These can be found on Amazon Silicone Waffle Mould

Ingredients

1 piece of Lo-Dough blitzed into fine crumbs

1 large egg

8 tbsp semi skimmed milk

A pinch each of nutmeg and cinnamon

Sweetener to taste ( I used 2 tsp)

Butter Frylight

Pre heat oven to Gas 6, Electric 200, Fan 180

Method

Place the waffle mould on a baking tray and spray with frylight Waffle_mould

In a bowl combine the crumbs, egg, milk, sweetener, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Spoon the mix evenly into the waffle mould sections

Place on a baking tray and in the oven for apx 25 mins until a light golden colour.

Turn out onto the baking tray. If they are a bit patchy place back in the oven without the mould for a further 5 mins Breakfast_waffles

I decorated mine with 5 tbsp low fat natural yoghurt and 5 tsp of caramel sauce Lodough_breakfast_waffles

For Slimming Worlders the Caramel Sauce is apx 1 syn per tsp

The waffles are 2 syns

There are a variety of Caramel sauces out there that are lower in syn value or in fact free but this one is worth a try as it tastes so good!
