Slimmingworlddebsx Pork, Honey and Mustard Sausages

Pork_honey_and_mustard_sausagesI am not going to go into great detail about how nice these are – they just are! A lovely pork sausage with a hint of honey and mustard and 1.5 syns each. They are worth the syn spend. The beauty about these sausages is you know exactly what’s in them. Absolutely no other added ingredients.

If like me you like that hint of sweetness in a sausage which makes it feel more indulgent, then the natural runny honey in this recipe just does that without being overpowering. You need to be a tad more careful with these when cooking as they have no tough tasteless skins to hold them together, but careful handling will give you a delicious sausage which I will definitely make again and again. These are your own gourmet sausages which will cost half of what you will pay for the equivalent in the supermarkets and they are healthier!

To make these delicious Slimmingworlddebsx Pork, Honey and Mustard Sausages you will need

A food processor

A meat chopping board

A bowl

A non stick pan and spatula

Ingredients

Makes 26 ( you can make 32 smaller ones for 1 syn each)

500gms less than 5% fat minced Pork

400 gms baked beans with the juice drained off and rinsed.

240gms wholemeal breadcrumbs

1 large onion very finely chopped onion

2 tbsp runny honey

2 tbsp wholegrain mustard

1 tsp onion salt

8 twists of Meat seasoning ( see photo below – I get mine from B&M)

Salt and pepper

Frylight for cooking

Method

In a food processor combine the onion, onion salt, mince, and baked beans and blitz until smooth. You may have to to do a little at a time and scrape the mix off the sides a time or two until it’s mixed thoroughly.

Tip into a bowl. Add the meat seasoning, breadcrumbs, onion salt and fresh ground salt and pepper and mix with the back of a spoon or a fork until thoroughly combined. Divide into at least 26 equal size balls

Shape into sausages simply by rolling with clean hands

To cook, place in a heated non stick pan. Spray the sausages with frylight and cook on a low to medium heat for apx 10 – 15 mins until thoroughly cooked. Don’t worry if they caramelise a little, this is the honey and adds to the flavour.debs_sausages
