Steak Fajita Pizza with BBQ Sauce

In celebration of National Pizza Day I have created three delicious pizzas using what I can only describe as the best food invention for a long time – Lo-Dough. At only 39 calories per piece it makes an amazing pizza base ensuring you can enjoy a delicious pizza at a fraction of the calories, making it a slimmers dream!

There’s nothing like a nice tender steak, but what if you fancy something quick and can’t be bothered with the fuss of making a big meal? The elements of this pizza can be prepared in advance and built together to create a lovely filling meal in just a few minutes

You can use leftover steak or cook from fresh, you decide.

To make this pizza you will need


1 piece of Lo-Dough – Low calorie bread alternative

100gms cooked steak strips

200gms passata

1/2 small onion chopped

1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp sweetener

1/2 tsp mustard powder

A handful of mixed sliced peppers

70gms protein cheese – I used Eat Lean

Spray oil


Pre heat oven to gas 7 electric 220 fan 200

In a non stick frying pan sprayed with frylight fry the Lo-Dough on both sides until crispy. Set aside on a baking tray

To make the BBQ sauce

Note: This is a mild sauce. If you prefer a hot sauce add more chilli powder to taste.

This can be made in advance and kept in the fridge overnight. Spray a pan with frylight and add the onion. Fry on a medium heat until softened slightly. Add the chilli powder and fry for a few seconds. Add the passata, mustard powder, sweetener, balsamic vinegar and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and cover pan – cook on a low heat for apx 15-20 mins until it reduces and thickens.

Spread the BBQ sauce on the Lo-Dough evenly. Add the steak strips and peppers Top with the grated cheese

Bake in the oven until the cheese has melted – apx 15-20 mins Nutritional information
