In celebration of National Pizza Day I have created three delicious pizzas using what I can only describe as the best food invention for a long time – Lo-Dough. At only 39 calories per piece it makes an amazing pizza base ensuring you can enjoy a delicious pizza at a fraction of the calories, making it a slimmers dream!
To make this recipe you will need a good enamel pie dish which will just fit a piece of Lo-Dough and curl up the sides as per image below.
This recipe was inspired by high calorie deep pan pizza recipes from America and their lovely tempting pizza pies. It makes a tasty filling meal which can be shared between two

1 large can chopped tomatoes (drained and pressed in a sieve to remove liquid)
4 Heck Chicken Italia Sausages
2 tsp of Italian herbs
1 tsp dried minced garlic
1/2 tsp sweetener
1 large tomato thinly sliced into rings
70gms low fat mozzarella
30gms grated Parmesan
Pre heat oven to Gas 7, Electric 220, fan 200
Place the sausages under the grill and cook as per instructions on pack. When cooked chop into chunks – apx 5-6 pieces per sausage. Set aside.
Meanwhile whilst the sausages are cooking spray your dish with frylight. Press the Lo-Dough into the dish and press into place.
If you have baking beads use those to weight the Lo-Dough in place. Place the dish into the oven and cook until the Lo-Dough has crisped up – apx 5 mins. Remove from oven.
Tear the mozzarella into small pieces and spread evenly on the bottom of the Lo-Dough.
In a small dish mix the thoroughly drained tinned chopped tomatoes with 1 tsp of Italian herbs, garlic, sweetener and seasoning then spread over the mozzarella. Press the sausage chunks into the tomato evenly around the dish. Top with sliced tomato and all of the Parmesan. Add the remainder of the Italian herbs.
